Upcoming Elections

Election Dates:

Town Meeting Day Election: Held on the first Tuesday in March.

General Elections: Held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

Eligibility to Vote:
To be eligible to vote in Vermont, you must:
Be a U.S. citizen.
Be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day.
Be a resident of Vermont and the town where you are voting.

Register to Vote:
You can register to vote in Vermont in the following ways:
Online Registration: Register to vote online (available for Vermont residents with a Vermont driver’s license).
In Person: Visit the Town Clerk's office at 293 Lower Main West, Johnson, VT.
By Mail: Download the Voter Registration Form, complete it, and mail it to the Town Clerk’s office.

Check Your Voter Registration Status:
Check your voter registration status by visiting the Vermont Secretary of State Voter Portal.

Polling Location:
Location: 293 Lower Main West, Johnson, VT (Town Office Building).
Hours: Polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Election Day.

Accessible Voting:
The Town of Johnson provides accessible voting options for individuals with disabilities, including accessible voting machines. Please contact the Town Clerk’s office in advance to ensure all accommodations are in place.

Absentee Voting:
Vermont allows no-excuse absentee voting. You can request an absentee ballot if you are unable to vote in person.

Request Your Absentee Ballot: Visit the Vermont Absentee Ballot Request Page to request your absentee ballot.

Return Your Absentee Ballot: Complete and return your absentee ballot to the Town Clerk’s office by the deadline.

Early Voting:

Sample Ballots:
Sample ballots will be available two weeks before the election. Please check this page for updates on when the ballots will be posted.
