Secretary of State Deb Markowitz Honors Community Members

The Secretary of State's Office has a program to recognize individuals who have served in elected or appointed positions for twenty or more years in their community. A certificate and pin are presented to the recipients.

Thanks to the gracious offer of the Vermont Studio Center and Secretary of State Deb Markowitz, the Johnson honored recipients were treated to a dinner in their honor and personally presented with their certificates by Secretary Markowitz, on Friday February 27 2004 at the Vermont Studio Center.

In addition to the honorees and their guests, those attending to honor these recipients were members of the Johnson Planning Commission, Johnson School Board, Johnson Village Trustees, Johnson Selectboard, Representative Floyd Neese, Senator Susan Bartlett, and others.

Evening social hour started at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner. Presentations to recipients were made by Secretary Markowitz with the assistance of Chairman Gordy Smith and Chairman Eric Osgood of the Village Trustee and Town Selectboard. After the presentation ceremony a brief report of current projects was made from the various commissions and boards represented at the dinner.
