Lyndhurst West

2000

There are those of us that have lived here either all or much of our lives and are not much noticed. Then there are those individuals that truly are icons of tradition in the community and we look at them as representative of our small town values and way of life. This years Annual Report is dedicated to Lyndhurst West, an individual that personifies the Vermonter and our close-knit, conservative and neighborly small town identities.

Lyn has lived all of his 84 years as a Johnson resident. He worked at the Talc Mill, was a very active member of the Fire Department, raised his children along with the vegetables in his substantial garden, and spends devoted time with his wife, Elizabeth. He is also a passionate sports fan. Many of us remember him in his regular seat at the old Johnson Gymnasium, and his "editorials" of the actioon that took place. His ability to keep a healthy perspective in a witty fashion give him a presence that will exist for generations.
