Friday Feb. 13, 2004 Governor Douglas presented to the Fire Department a check for $192,000, to help get the water rescue and Fire department back on their feet.

Chief Gordie Smith also invited the Governor back for a ribbon cutting ceremony officially opening the newly rebuilt Fire Station on Labor Day of 2004.
