| "On
behalf of the Johnson Fire Department, I would like to welcome
you. Since the late 1800's, we have served the communities of
Johnson, Belvidere and Waterville. Over 95 square miles and close
to 3500 residents, two elementary schools, a state college and a visual
arts school. It is our pleasure to serve and protect in our
community as well as educating our residents young and old of what to do
in case of an emergency. On the morning of February 8th, 2004 we
had our own emergency as our station burned to the ground. We
responded to our own station at 4:20am to find it fully involved with
fire. Departments from around the county responded immediately to
our aid in an effort to save our firehouse. Unfortunately, the
fire had a sizable advantage and we lost just about everything.
Today, with the help from our community, emergency responders from
around the country as well as Homeland Security, we have rebuilt our
firehouse in its original location. We are filled with
appreciation, gratitude and thank everyone who has helped in our efforts
to rebuild. Our Fire House may have burned; our Fire Department
and our passion to serve the local community is as strong as ever.
Please feel free to spend as much time looking around at our website and
drop us an email when you're finished. Thank you and God
Bless."
